Mr Helliwell Question HW

A wireframe diagram is a very suitable option for the planning of a website for multiple reasons, firstly and most obviously its a cheap and time effective option due to its simplicity whilst also still including the key elements needed for a good website plan. Furthermore it helps to include the clients in the design process as they can give feedback on what they do and dont like and maybe even change it themselves as its quite basic and easy to use.

Another advantage is that it allows you to define your features and have a general overview of how its going to be set out, almost like a blueprint. Finally a wireframe diagram would allow you to judge the efficiency of the website in the sense of how easy it is to explore and find what your looking for when browsing.

The only two real downsides to a wireframe diagram are that due to the way it is layed out it is quite difficult to get a visual representation of what the final website might look like meaning what your imagining or hoping your final product is going to turn out like might not and you would have to go back into the pre production stages.

Lastly they are time consuming and quite difficult to change, as they are usually drawn so redrawing it multiple times would take up time that isnt neccasseraly available. Plus even if it was digital there are much faster easier software options like balsamiq which could do it in a fraction of the time to a the same standard or even better.
